ELST VOLUNTEERING PROJECTS SUMMER 2005

Continuing on the success of the summer projects scheme in 2004, ELST supported 14 Cambridge University students to complete projects and initiatives throughout the Himalayan region during summer 2005. The projects mostly involved teaching at various levels. The institutions involved were :-

  • Men-Tsee-Khang, Dharamsala
  • Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi
  • Tibetan Children's Village, Ladakh
  • Bylakuppe
  • Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy/Department of Education, Dharamsala
  • Multi Education Centre, Dharamsala
  • Tashi-Khil Monastery, Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia

Again, feedback from the projects has been very positive with both Cambridge students and Tibetans benefiting enourmously from the experience. You can read report summaries from the volunteers involved in summer projects in 2005.
